What's the must-have piece in your wardrobe? A dress? Good answer! :)
A piece that's constantly reinvented by brands. It's a garment that can be kept for years, and one that women love to wear. In summer with a pair of pumps or in winter with a pair of tights.
The dress: a key piece
An icon of elegance, the dress adds a touch of femininity and chic to your outfit. Confused by the many different types of dresses, Stéphanie, a Gualap image consultant , explains the different types of dress cuts and a tip that will revolutionize your everyday outfit.
Short dress or long dress?
Short dress
The short dress highlights your beautiful legs . It generally stops above the knee. The short dress is ideal for going to work, for a day with friends or for a small romantic evening. For a summer look , the short dress can be worn with flat sandals and a straight-cut blazer .
Long dress
Less easy to wear every day, the long dress enhances your figure . The ideal dress falls down to the bone of your foot. If you are rather petite, choose a long dress that stops below your knees. The long dress is perfect for a beachside restaurant or a cocktail party.
The different types of dress cuts
Strapless dress
The strapless dress highlights your upper body, especially your shoulders. It is synonymous with elegance. It can be long or short.
Asymmetrical dress
The asymmetrical dress is more than trendy this summer. The asymmetry of the dress can be located at the top or the bottom of the dress . It highlights your beautiful neckline.
Straight dress
The straight dress is a classic, straight cut, generally worn for work. It can be adapted to all body shapes.
Sweater dress
The sweater dress, in wool or cashmere, is a timeless piece . It is particularly suitable for winter dressing.
Shirt dress
The shirt dress is a basic . Most often made of denim, it brings a masculine and feminine side.
Skater dress
A skater dress is a dress with a flared cut at the waist . It highlights all of your assets. Choose a short skater dress to show off your beautiful legs.
Wrap dress
The wrap dress (also called a crossover dress) is a very elegant and refined style of dress. It is open at the front. It crosses over the front of your body and fastens by wrapping the knot around your waist. The wrap dress is available as a short or long dress.
Trapeze dress
Like the geometric shape, the trapeze dress is narrow at the shoulders and flares out from the waist (or chest) downward. This dress style was designed by a 1960s fashion icon: André Courrèges.
To enhance the elegance of your dress, you can add a small belt to accentuate your waist. Don't forget the accessories: a pair of pearl earrings, a neckpiece, a delicate bracelet, a pretty hair scarf... Choose them according to the style of your dress. We trust you!

Fashion tip
Get a hair elastic and a rigid bracelet . Take one side of your dress and add the rigid bracelet. On the outside of your dress, wrap your bracelet with the second elastic . Don't hesitate to make two turns around the bracelet. This trick adds a little modern touch to your dress and highlights your pretty silhouette. In 30 seconds, your "too big" dress becomes fitted and elegant! :)
